As the saying goes, “It’s in the blood”, sums it up to say the least.  Patrick Curran, cousin of WEC Contender and one of MMA’s top 5 featherweights Jeff Curran has entered onto the mma scene and is taking it by storm.  Patrick first step foot onto the mats at Curran Martial Arts Academy in Crystal Lake, IL when he was 17 years old.  After staying the summer with his older cousin Jeff, he was convinced that not only was Jiu-Jitsu something he wanted to pursue for his life, but being a fighter was definatly in the cards.  A high school wrestling standout from Florida, Curran managed to break high school records with his dominating style.  That wrestling has passed over to his newly found MMA career, going 3 for 3 for slams in all of his appearances.  Patrick (aka. “Jr.”) is 3-0 as an amateur for the XFO and is a new blue belt under his black belt cousin Jeff as of recent.  Jr. makes his mma professional debut at XFO 22 on Feb. 23rd, 2008 at Crystal Lake Holiday Inn.  Jr. will be facing a tough opponent in Lazar Stojadinovic after witnessing Lazar’s dominating performance over teamate Ben Miller, who suffered a broken jaw, at Extreme Challenge on January 26th.
